Is thing on? Going to try this Substack thing again as Twitter remains horrible to use and be on
I am horrible at self promotion, so doing it on a platform where I can ramble on feels right.
This week’s work
On Locked on Cavs this week: Cavs road trip wrap-up, Darius Garland stepping up for the Cavs to beat the Blazers; Mailbag on Kevin Love and other topics; on the Cavs’ loss in Memphis; and looking at the top of the East with Kane Pittman.
News story on the Dean Wade return from injury with some background info on what’s going on with Wade.
Got something new (hopefully) launching this week that I’m very excited to do and see if it works. Also scared because that’s me, man.
Worth a look
I will watch Jessie Buckley act in anything.
Good on Justise Winslow for doing the hard work.
The Big Picture always rules, but movie auctions more than anything else. I, personally, would have bid a stupid amount of money for the upcoming Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan-starring Foe.
Cannot wait for the full Boygenius project in the spring. Sadboi season is here. This Phoebe Bridgers quotes from the piece sticks with me: “It’s so hard to relate to people. Except for those guys. Being with them makes it so much less dark.”
Abby Mueller’s podcast is a new addition to my rotation. There’s a joy to it that I find really engaging.
Immortal X-Men #10 from Gillen, Werneck, et. all is the best examination of Charles Xavier I’ve read maybe ever and certainly the best from the Krakoa era. What Gillen very much gets about Xavier is that he’s so self-righteous that it makes him ill-equipped to lead in a lot of ways. But people trust him and love him anyway. Can’t wait to see what the X-Office has planned for him, especially as his most ideologically loyal student (Beast) continues to commit a lot of war crimes.
Be well.
