In the last year-plus, my life changed. The what isn’t important. But the end result is.
I am different now, so what I want to spend my time doing is. That means I want to spend less time working and more of my time living.
So, where you’ll find me is changing. Effective at the end of this week, I will no longer be co-hosting Locked on Cavs. And at the end of June, I’ll be stepping down from Fear the Sword.
To anyone who consumed my Cavs coverage in the last decade-plus: Thank you. It was a childhood dream of mine to cover that team up close, to cover a few NBA Finals, and tell at least some stories worth telling. I know it’s time to step away, though, because that doesn’t excite me anymore. To continue would be unfair to myself, my employers, and anyone who consumes anything I create.
I’ll still be around — primarily The Just Basketball Show with Brendon Kleen and Wes Goldberg and hopefully other outlets in sports media and outside of it. But the plan is to be online with more intention. When you see my face, hear my voice, or read my work in the future, it will be for a reason. And not just because I’m doing the same thing I was always doing for the sake of cashing a paycheck.
I'm not hard to reach if you want to. I’ll be posting here more, updating on what I’m up to, what I’m reading, and what is going on.
Be well and thanks for reading. See you around. — Chris
